Martin Logan
Nestled in the heart of Lawrence, Kansas is Martin Logan, a high end audio company best known for their electrostatic speakers. The company began with Gayle Martin Sanders and Ron Logan Sutherland, two visionaries from diverse backgrounds, united by their passion for music and a shared fascination with electrostatic loudspeakers. Witnessing the limitations of existing models on the market, they set out to create the perfect electrostatic speaker—one that would marry impeccable sound quality with elegant aesthetics.
After a series of experiments and relentless determination, the breakthrough came in the form of the curvilinear line-source (CLS) transducer. It was a pivotal moment, forever altering the landscape of electrostatic sound. This innovative design captured the essence of their vision and received acclaim at the 1982 Consumer Electronics Show, marking the genesis of Martin Logan.
Martin Logan introduced groundbreaking designs, such as the Monolith, Prodigy, and a series of hybrid electrostatic loudspeakers that showcased their prowess in fusing advanced bass technology with the lightning-fast response of electrostatic panels. These speakers redefined the limits of audio perfection.
Over the years, Martin Logan continued to push the boundaries of audio technology. They unveiled the ultra-rigid AirFrame, pioneered Folded Motion tweeter technology, and launched the colossal Neolith, setting new standards in electrostatic loudspeakers. Their passion for “Truth in Sound” remains the driving force behind their relentless innovation. With an array of electrostatic designs, architectural speakers, and all-weather options, Martin Logan continues to influence the audio landscape, allowing listeners to experience sound as it was meant to be—pure, resonant, and true.
